My Blog Experience

I had never created a blog before and hadn't paid much attention to blogs by other people either. But now that I have had this experience, I see many ways that I can use a blog in the future. I will most likely start one next year to start keeping track of my assignments and use it almost as an online planner. Then I will try and use one as a teacher to have a resource there for my students to be able to access my lesson plans and refresh on what we did during that day of class.

Final Presentation

I have just finished my final presentation earlier this morning and will be presenting the portfolio to Dr. Kutscher at 3pm today. This has been a fun class but I am ready for summer!!!

What do I do when I struggle with technology?

When I struggle with using a type of technology, the first thing I do is go to the internet and look up how to use the technology. I can't think of a single time, with any one piece of technology that I have not been able to look up on the internet and find the best/right way to use that technology. Using technology to learn how to use technology....funny how that works huh.

How can I use a Blog List in MY Classroom?

In my classroom, I think having a Blog List on the same blog that I give students their homework and reading assignment updates could help with other projects for my students. If I have a list of several science blogs and tell my students to find a blog post that interests him or her, and then write a paper or give some sort of presentation on the post. Some science blog posts are experiments so a student may also be able to recreate the experiment for the rest of the class.

iMovie Progress

Mack and I have our movie completely planned out and will begin filming within the next day or two. Normally we would have begun filming already, but we needed to get supplies and make sure that we would be able to do it. We will be able to film it all in one session.

Using Wiki Pages and Google Sites in MY Classroom

I think being able to have a Wiki Page or a Google Site for my classroom will help a lot. I can have a site that is Mr. Garey's Classroom and have a different page for each of the classes that I teach during the day and my students can access that page and get their homework, notes, announcements, and all sorts of other stuff that could be given that way instead of taking classtime to discuss it.

Spring Break

As soon as my last class got over Friday, I hopped in my car that I had loaded up earlier that day and drove home to Broken Bow where my family had our suburban ready. We tossed my bags in and took off for Denver. We arrived around 10pm Mountain Time and checked into our hotel near the Denver Airport. The next morning we flew out of Denver destined for Cancun. After landing, we went through customs with about 2000 other people in a 95 degree room. After that we got onto our shuttle that took us to the Villa Del Palmar. We flew back to the real world after 6 days of 90 degree temperatures, gourmet food, beach scenery, and tropical drinks. Needless to say, I was thoroughly relaxed upon reentry into these United States.
